as empty as full can be

There are those who are full and yet empty;
those who own all, yet are poor.
Open, shut, open, shut,
swings our opportune door.

Many face the solution;
few can see that it's there.
They search for that which is hidden
the truth, lies everywhere.

As the blind can't see color,
as poor deaf ears can't hear,
the man who makes a blunder
won't realize that God is near.

As they drown in their hopeless efforts;
trying to escape the pain,
Who will be there to tell them
that only through Christ is gain?
