Alright... Perhaps it isn't the night before, but the day should count too. As I am surrounded by my family (literally, I have two little sisters reading over my shoulder) I began to realize what the true blessings of the season are. It is during Christmas time, more than ever, that I began to see what it truly means to be a daughter of the king.
I have always thought it interesting that Christmas comes during the darkest, coldest time of year. Its a reminder that there is hope during what would otherwise be the most hopeless season. For me, Christmas lights have always been a representation of this.
Ours droop from the overhang like dry leaves, and are a rather comic sight. Yet despite their mediocre appearance, they still shine through the darkeness, proclaiming that not all is lost. I wonder if that was how the Christmas star looked, shining through the darkness, revealing a new hope, the hope of Christmas.
