Sat a day

Saturday, the day,

we learn to work and to play

Saturday, the day

Today I read more of Jane Eyre. I was really pleased when Mr. Rochester proposed to her, then..... I despise morbid books. I haven't finished yet, so perhaps it is to early to condemn it as such, but honest truly, why do depressed people write?

I also babysat Cody this evening: his vocabulary is rapidly expanding. He was describing the colors and varieties of cars when we played trucks. We also encountered an interesting experience with a frog.

It is normal for little boys to catch frogs. Really, its normal for almost anyone to catch frogs. But, with kindness and mercy most people are willing to let them go. Perhaps the depth of inner struggle within two year olds is greater than we would perceive, because Cody could not decide whether or not he wanted to let the frog go. In a moment of mercy he would shake the container until the frog fell out and tell it bye. 15 seconds later he would begin his search for the same pitiful creature. "Why are you hiding? Boo! Come here frog!" I don't think the frog would have been much the worse for his short tastes of freedom however if it hadn't been for the sand box.

Seeing the wet tree frog make his way through the dunes of the sandbox reminded me of that sweatshirt in Kohl's- deep and absolutely covered with specks. Perhaps that analogy is stretching it a bit, but truly, I felt pity on both. At one point I tried to pick up the frog and release him from his misery but alas, I was met with a cry of protest. "He can do it. Leave him alone. Come on froggy!"

You know, sometimes, I think we feel like the frog. Small, wet, and absolutely miserable.

Thankfully, today I don't. But when I do I can return to this memory, and if nothing else, enjoy a good laugh.

~ Picts are still not uploaded.
~ Masters memories will soon be posted. :)
~btw... the frog we caught was slimmer than the one in the pict. New years resolutions I guess.

I like morbid books! And I love Jane Eyre! That kinda gives you a hint on how it ends... =)

Deep and Wide! Deep and Wide!!! That is hilarious! No one else will understand though... =)

Can't wait for Master's memories! Although I would rather hear them in person... =)

P.S. I don't really like morbid books... more like sad ones. Just wanted to clarify! =)
