The clouds were all shapes and sizes last night, many a dark slate grey (I much prefer grey to gray....), but behind these clouds were a few radiant rebels, shining with a gold so bright I really wondered if it was heaven. As I walked along, basking in the world of color, I wondered what it would be like if everything were black and white. It took a few minutes (my imagination has become a little rusty), but I soon saw things that way, and how dreary the sunset became! I felt great pity for the colorblind. And yet, it occurred to me as I walked along, that sometimes I choose to see the world in greyscale. Most people do. Perhaps “incurable optimism” and “polly-anna-ness” aren’t seeing the world through rose-colored glasses at all. Perhaps, it's just seeing its colors.
