Links to Nepal Posts

Not everyone has time to read about my entire trip.  I'm busy too! I put together this post so that if you're interested in reading about one part of my trip, you don't have to sort through my messy blog. :)

Bandits, Cows, Monkeys, and Jesus : This post details my travel to Nepal, my arrival, and my first day there.

Dignity : This post is a poem I wrote after my first encounter with a street boy.

Street Children and Beggars

Learning to Play : We were able to visit nine of the children's homes while we were in Nepal! The children's homes (particularly the home in which I took these pictures) were of my favorite parts of the trip.

The Blessing of Being : The first few days I was in Nepal, I really struggled with my purpose in being there. Because the purpose of this trip is to develop a long term vision (rather than try to fix as much as possible in two weeks), sometimes I felt like I wasn't doing as much as I wanted to be. This post is about how God used this time to teach me about Him.

The Mundane Work of Heroism : This post details our trip to the border station where this organization intercepts girls that are being trafficked.

The Kingdom Belongs to These : One of our guided discussions compared the Hindu view of children to Jesus' view of children. This poem is the result of that conversation and a visit to Paradise Children's Home.

More God's than People, more Temples than Houses : This post is about our visit to Pashupatinath, the famous temple of the Hindu god Lord Shiva.

True Treasure : On the last day, we were given $100 and sent a mission.  Our job was to use the money for the most good possible among those who most needed it. Those four hours were one of the hardest afternoons of my life, but I was also reminded that God is not only soveriegn; He is also good.

The Girls on My Team: (From left to right: Me, Anna, Chelsea, and Dani)
This picture was taken at children's home that is being built in Pokhara, Nepal. I can't wait to see what it will look like when it's finished!
