Sometimes, I feel like that too.

It was Jewel's night to pray for dinner, but she forgot what she wanted to say. Mom decided to fill in. "Thank you God for... for... for um...." "For giving me such a delicious little girl!"

Of course there were a few snickers (okay, maybe we all laughed), and Jewel, the sensitive kiddo she is left with a storm and tears. The rest of us calmly finished dinner. (Lest you think we're cruel, outbursts during meals is kind of a norm in our house. We've discovered that ignoring the fit-thrower-justified or not-creates peace. They know they are welcome to join the table as soon as they are calm.)

After dinner Mom and I went to find Jewel so that she could eat. We found her sitting on my bed drawing on my computer. She was very angry when I saved her picture, but I think she'll forgive me in a few years. Right now, she's distracted by a hot plate of lasagna and broccoli.
